This is a talk about a rescue-project journey which includes Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 data migration, geolocation and the migration of a custom CRM to RedHen CRM (the red chicken).

What is it like to take on a rescue project? Where do you start? Why take on such a project? What skills/people do you need? What does Drupal 8 have to do with this? These are just several of many questions, I'd like to share our aproach to the challenge and give insight in the tools and techniques used.

Besides the above the website itself had requirements too, it needed to have:
- Custom 3rd party API integration
- Geolocation and mapping
- Mailchimp integration
- Node contact forms
- A responsive theme
- A new CRM
- SEO
- Be simple to use

[spoiler alert] To give you a bit of a heads-up, we made extensive use of the Migrate module, Drush, Features, Panelizer, Git and Tuleap (A Open Source Agile Application Lifecycle Management tool). To make all of this tick along nicely we used VLAD as the local development environment.

If you are interested in Migrations, Geolocation, RedHen CRM, Project Management then this could be an insightful session for you.

So, where does Drupal 8 fit in with all of this?...well, come to the talk to find out ;-)

[disclaimer] No chickens were harmed during this project.
